Places to visit #02: Pateo do Collegio - São Paulo

Pateo do Collegio may be consider the most important mark of São Paulo, it’s where all began.

First construction of São Paulo,  inaugurated by priest Manuel de Nóbrega and José de Anchieta, who wanted to give religious instructions to the natives. Their first “mission” was done in 1/25/1554 (São Paulo’s Birthday). At 1640, Jesuítas were expelled by Portuguese Crown, for their fights with colonist and the religious that defended natives. They only came back after 13 years.

The place it’s pretty much preserved mainly inside the construction. As we from this blog, a lot of people from São Paulo, didn’t knew about the place and his activities. It’s localizes there the Anchieta Museum, José de Anchieta’s crypt, the church from the first mass.

From all the places we visited it were where we could found the best attendance for tourists.
